Making Congress feel the pressure

Each month, we want a bigger force pressuring Congress to “Read the Bills.” Do you? Retweet

Can you please send Congress a message right now, asking them to support Downsize DC’s “Read the Bills Act?” Rand Paul has introduced it in the Senate.

Just click here and send the message, which reads…

I expect my Senators to co-sponsor S. 1571 and strongly encourage my Representative to introduce the Read the Bills Act.

You can add personal comments. We hope you do. But it’s not necessary. Here’s how this fits into our strategy for 2016…

  • We want to INCREASE the amount of pressure we place on Congress EACH month.
  • We hope to finish the year by sending roughly 100,000 messages in December for each of our main proposals, like the Read the Bills Act.

We can only send that many messages if two things happen…

  1. We recruit 100,000 supporters for our bills. With that many activists, we can achieve escape velocity — the constant growth necessary to reach 3-5 million supporters. That’s what we think it will take to get our proposals enacted.
  2. You participate each month, so that the pressure on Congress constantly increases. It’s lot easier to ask someone to do something we’ve already done. Sending a letter seems like a step that comes before asking someone else do it.

Will you take the first step now by sending your message supporting RTBA for January? Thank you.
