VIDEO: Cop Attempts to Violate a Man’s Rights but His Sergeant Shows Up and Shuts Him Down

Albany, NY — A man practicing his first amendment right to film in public was stopped on Friday by a New York state trooper who attempted to violate his rights.
Instead of knowing the law, trooper Fougere of the New York State Police demanded that the man filming identify himself. However, in New York, if an officer demands that you identify yourself, that officer must have reason to believe you have committed a crime, are about to commit a crime, or have evidence of a crime that was committed.
Trooper Fougere lacked all of this criteria, which made his detainment and subsequent …read more

How US Public Schools Have Come to Increasingly Resemble Prisons Instead of Learning Centers

“Every day in communities across the United States, children and adolescents spend the majority of their waking hours in schools that have increasingly come to resemble places of detention more than places of learning. From metal detectors to drug tests, from increased policing to all-seeing electronic surveillance, the public schools of the twenty-first century reflect a society that has become fixated on crime, security and violence.”—Investigative journalist Annette Fuentes

In the American police state, you’re either a prisoner (shackled, controlled, monitored, ordered about, limited in what you can do and say, your life not your own) or a prison bureaucrat (police officer, …read more

Arkansas Libertarian Party Likely to File Lawsuit Over Deadline for Nominations

The Arkansas Libertarian Party expects to file a lawsuit against the new law (passed in 2015) that says it must choose all its nominees by November 2015 for the election that is a year away. The Libertarian Party nominates by convention for the 2016 election. The two major parties nominate for all office in March 2016, in a primary, so the law’s timing is highly discriminatory. No state in U.S. history, until now, has ever required any type of party to choose all its nominees in the odd year before the election year. It is difficult …read more

Florida Republican Party Stiffens Ballot Access for Presidential Primary

On September 25, the Florida Republican Party passed some new barriers to entry onto the party’s presidential primary ballot. Either the candidates attend a fundraising event for the party in Orlando November 13-14; or they must pay the party $25,000; or they must submit 125 signatures of registered Republicans from each of the 27 U.S. House districts.
Florida election law says the sole control over who can get on the Republican presidential primary is exercised by the state party. In the past, the Republican Party always routinely put all Republican candidates on the primary ballot if they were discussed …read more

The media controls what people care about
The media, and therefore the people, focus on side shows and carnival barkers
Evidence that the U.S. has facilitated and assisted ISIS is more important than anything the media is currently covering
So what should we do about this? Do we submit to media control or fight it? Specifically, we’d like your feedback on …read more

Study Finds that Meth Crime Spikes in Counties Where Alcohol Sales are Banned

Even in small-scale environments government prohibition of any substance will prove to increase crime and substance abuse.

According to a recent study, counties that ban the sale of alcohol have a higher rate of meth crime than counties where booze is legal. Researchers at the University of Louisville determined that if all dry counties in the state permitted the sale of alcohol, the total number of meth lab seizures in Kentucky would decline by about 25%.
In a paper titled “Breaking Bad: Are Meth Labs Justified in Dry Counties?” researchers at the University of Louisville found that over a fourth of the …read more
