It’s Back to the Future Day: Here’s What Marty McFly Would Have Really Seen on Oct 21, 2015

The date that people have been counting down to for the last 26 years is here. Today is the day Michael J Fox’s Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown travelled to in Back to the Future 2 in 1989.
But when McFly landed in that 2015 on that fateful fictional day, do you think he could have imagined the state of the world today?
In one particular scene during the movie, police officers found Marty’s unconscious mother laid out in an alley. They then picked her up, drove her home and the incident was over. But would police today act in …read more

Ben Carson Still Hasn’t Said he will Attend Florida Republican Fund-Raiser; His Ballot Access is Affected

According to this story, Ben Carson still hasn’t told the Florida Republican Party that he will attend its “Sunshine Summit” set for November 13-14. Florida Republican rules this year say no one can appear on the presidential primary ballot unless he or she attends the meeting, or pays $25,000, or submits 125 signatures of Republican voters in each U.S. House district.
The party has invited every presidential candidate who qualified for any Republican presidential debate to attend. Carson is the only one who hasn’t accepted. …read more

Soldier Finds His Former Hero Service Dog Being Abused by a Deputy who Won’t Give Him Back

The bonds that men develop in combat are like no other. They span thousands of miles, multiple generations and are an everlasting sign of brotherhood. As an Army veteran, Alexander Reimer is no stranger to this bond. However, for this war veteran, the pact doesn’t end at humanity, it also transcends species.
Alexander first met Howard when they were deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. Howard is a rescue dog that was saved from the Howard County Pound in Indiana and went on to become the first pit bull to be certified by the military as a working dog. Reimer (a former …read more

Cop Off the Job After Pleading Guilty to Attacking a Man and Biting his Testicles

Baltimore, MD — After pleading guilty to public intoxication and endangering the safety of another person, a police corporal has recently lost his job. During the incident, the officer was accused of biting a man in the testicles on Cinco de Mayo. Although the officer was originally charged with second-degree assault, prosecutors dropped the charge while negotiating for a guilty plea.
At 11:47 p.m. on May 5, police officers responded to an assault call in the alley behind a Baltimore bar called Looney’s Pub. According to the police report, off-duty Anne Arundel County Cpl. Michael Flaig was inappropriately groping the victim’s …read more

Republican National Committee Will Charge Reporters $150 to Sit in Press Box at 2016 National Convention

According to this news story, the Republican National Committee will charge reporters $150 to sit in the press box at the Cleveland 2016 national convention. The concept is somewhat similar to the policy of several state Republican Parties this year, who are charging presidential candidates thousands of dollars to appear on presidential primary ballots. The most extreme is South Carolina’s Republican Party, where the fee is $40,000, half of which goes to the party even though the party doesn’t pay to administer the primary. The other half goes to the state. …read more

No More Zero UI…That’s HUI

On my science and tech podcast–Sovryn Tech–I’ve been bringing up for a while (including very recently) the concept of “Zero User Interface” or “Zero UI”. It’s a simple concept that has been around for a very long time, even if the name hasn’t. The idea is to remove the screen and/or physical controls for a device or computational operation. Consider in Star Trek how they talk to the Enterprise‘s main computer and it gives them information or performs some type of action automatically. This is Zero UI, and technologies like the Amazon Echo, Microsoft Kinect, and even Google GLASS are …read more

Did our politicians arm more terrorists again?

US gives 50 tons of weapons to probable Syrian terrorist groups. Retweet.
We must reveal what the media hides.
We wrote and sent the following editorial to our representatives in Congress. We encourage you to do the same.
On Sunday October 11th the U.S. military dropped 50 tons of weapons to a rebel force in Syria. But who are these rebels? The mainstream media won’t tell you, but we will…
The group receiving the weapons calls itself the Democratic Forces of Syria. They supposedly oppose both ISIS and the Syrian dictator, Assad. The group is composed of both Kurds and Arabs.
But our politicians won’t …read more

Chicago Cops Have “Disappeared” More than 7,000 People at Secret Interrogation Warehouse

Chicago, IL — A lawsuit filed on behalf of the Guardian revealed a mind-blowingly high number of people who were effectively ‘disappeared’ at the secret warehouse prison used by Chicago cops.
As Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel blames the “YouTube Effect” for the animosity towards police, more than 7,000 people were secretly detained and held without due process in his town. Apparently, none of the victims, their friends, or their family members resent police for holding their loved ones without due process.
The Guardian reports:
According to an analysis of data disclosed to the Guardian in late September, police allowed lawyers access to Homan …read more
