Staten Island, NY – The state of New York has one of the highest cigarette taxes in the country, amounting to roughly $6 per pack in taxes alone. Naturally, people find ways around these obnoxious taxes by importing cigarettes from other states or selling off-brand products, and naturally the government acts like the mafia and does everything in their power to see that people pay up.

I’m a bit of a fan of tablets. Android tablets, in particular, but I suppose iPads can be nice, too, if Apple is your thing. At the Dark Android Project, I usually recommend tablets for security issues with SIM cards–which most tablets don’t have (and if you can remove them from your smartphone, that’s just as good, too)–so I often get asked to give reviews on the latest tablets to come out, and how well they work towards making a “DAPS-ready” device…or a at least a device that can be used with privacy and security in mind.

On October 26, Willis Carto, founder of the Populist Party, died in Virginia. He was 89. The Populist Party existed 1984-1994. Orlando, FL – 37-year-old Kevin Sutton is camping out for Black Friday a month in advance, but he’s not very interested in the sales. Rather, Sutton is taking the opportunity to raise awareness about homelessness. Last Sunday, Sutton set up his tent out front of a Best Buy store on South Orange Blossom Trail.
While he is camped out in front of the store, Sutton will be collecting donations of canned goods that will be donated to a local charity that provides help to needy children during the holidays.

Lambeth, UK – A massive Halloween rave called, “Scumoween: A Nightmare On Scum Street” drew thousands of people this weekend, but was unfortunately raided by riot police halfway through the evening. Prior to the event, the organizers were planning for a possible police interruption and made a statement asking those attending to not engage directly with police.

A report has just been released that completely and utterly dismantles the “war on cops” narrative being pushed by police apologists and certain media outlets.
The FBI’s own data show that assaults on police officers were down sharply in 2014, continuing a steady decline since 2008. Assaults on cops were at their lowest point since 1996.
Combine this with the fact that felonious killings of police have been declining for three decades, and 2015 is on track to be the second lowest on record. There is nowhere in the logical universe one can go to push the false “war on cops” narrative.
