Minot, ND – In a case of mistaken identity, SWAT officers issued a no-knock search warrant on Sunday, kicking down an innocent woman’s door and holding her at gunpoint. Instead of apologizing for their mistake, the officers insulted her and threatened to kill her dogs.
While lying in her bed on Sunday afternoon, Lynette Bintliff heard a SWAT team breaking down her door before storming her apartment with their guns aimed at her.

Juiced-evidence and a global raid on your wallet? #ParisClimateConference

Can #ParisClimateConference politicians fix anything, let alone the environment? #tlot Retweet

The big political event this week is the Paris climate summit, a chance for the United States to lead the way in handing over sovereignty of its local environment, in favor of imposing additional burdens on your industry and your wallet.

Some degree of climate change is likely real. Change happens! The real debate is whether we want to let the politicians respond to it. After all, if we’re going to be “scientific” about this, there’s no evidence that politicians solve problems. There’s abundant evidence that they make problems worse and …read more

Conflict of Interest? The US Navy Has a Base in a Brutal Dictatorship with Ties to ISIS

Much has been said about the most notorious dictatorship in the Middle East and close ally of the United States. Saudi Arabia, the number 1 beheader, carries out tasks such as bombing Yemen targets, including hospitals, and helping to stamp out rebellions for neighboring US-allied dictators. In exchange for this thuggery (and the flow of oil), the Saudis receive access to some of the best weapons in the world and guarantees of the monarchy’s continued existence in the face of massive discontent.
This resentment against Western puppets that rule Gulf nations is a contributing factor in the support for terrorism. Saudi …read more

U.S. District Court Won’t Postpone North Carolina Primary Election

The postponement of the primary had been requested by the plaintiffs in Covington v State. They argue that the legislative districts are invalid. The decision says that the federal court will keep jurisdiction of the case (even though the State Supreme Court has a similar case pending), but the federal court is unwilling to disrupt the upcoming primary. Here is the decision. …read more

Whiteout.io Closes Down…Leaving Us with One Less Encryption Option

There are businesses that I like seeing shutter their doors (I would love it if Alphabet/Google shut down indefinitely), and then there are businesses that I really want to succeed. I’m going to talk about the latter here. Whiteout.io is a suggestion I’ve made on my own tech podcast–Sovryn Tech–if you were looking for a really easy-to-use PGP email encryption solution. It allowed you to encrypt the email address you already had by very simply creating a PGP key pair for you, and eventually they even became their own email hosting service where you could have your own “yourname@whiteout.io” address. …read more
