Coinbase has now completed its formal response to the New York Department of Financial Services on their recently proposed BitLicense Draft.

To summarize the main points of our response:

We feel the BitLicense is duplicative of the current money transmitter regulations which are a more appropriate form of regulation for the future of digital currency.

Certain aspects of the proposed recordkeeping and anti-money laundering requirements would eliminate the core utility of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, substantially hindering the innovation which all of us including, purportedly the NYDFS, find so promising.

Man Tries to Inform Cops that his Son is Autistic, So he is Assaulted, Tased, and Arrested

“I stated, ‘I’m his father, and just wanted to tell you he’s autistic.’ He turned around and said, ‘Leave or you’ll be arrested!’ He started walking towards me and said ‘you’re under arrest.’ I said, ‘for what?’, I kept saying over and over all I wanted to do was tell you he’s autistic. He just replied, ‘you’re under arrest.’”
All charges have been dropped against Roy Sherman, the man who was tased, arrested and charged with assaulting a deputy, all for trying to inform officers his son was autistic during a routine traffic stop in Marion County, Florida CopWatch reports.

Men Arrested for Flying Drone Too Close to NYPD Chopper, Turns Out the NYPD was the One Too Close

Initially, the police claimed that the drone attacked the helicopter and attempted to fly into it, but audio that was later released by air traffic control tells a different story. In the air traffic control recordings, the NYPD helicopter pilot can be heard announcing that he is following the drone.
