When we started Coinbase, we took a look at the Bitcoin Core open source project, and tried to decide how we could use it to build a web application. Bitcoin Core is a great reference implementation, but was never designed to query blockchain data in a flexible way (such as through a SQL database) or to scale to millions of users across dozens of servers. Passenger Asks Police Why They Were Stopped, So They Handcuffed Him Then Broke His Face

In a video uploaded to YouTube on Monday, Officer Aguilar of the Clovis, NM, Police Department is seen blatantly assaulting an innocent and handcuffed 26 year old man.
The incident began as what appeared to be a normal traffic stop. However, Officer Aguilar approached the vehicle and never provided any information on his reasoning, before demanding license and registration from the driver.
Approximately a minute into the video the young man in the passenger seat validly asks the officer why they were stopped, and this thug with a badge demands to see his identification.

Canadian Government Warns Citizens to Watch Out for US Police Robbing Them

American police are targeting their northern neighbors, according to a travel warning from the Canadian government.
State and federal law enforcement officers are reportedly shaking down Canadians visiting the US, illegally confiscating legally carried cash.
Over 61,000 of these incidents have occurred since 9/11, resulting in $2.5 billion being seized, according to The Washington Post. RT’s Alexey Yaroshevsky has more details on the trend.

Police Tried to Charge a Man they Paralyzed, with Assault, He Was Just Found Not Guilty

“The only crime he committed was smiling too much.”
Leon Ford, a man paralyzed when Pittsburgh Officer David Derbish “feared for his life” and shot Ford at a traffic stop, was found not guilty on Monday on two counts of aggravated assault, charges which could have landed him 20 years in prison.
