Joseph Sledge became a free man on Friday after a three-judge panel declared him innocent of a 1976 murder for which he had been convicted.

Seventy-year-old Sledge, who always maintained his innocence, had already spent 37 years behind bars.

Kinloch, Missouri – Theda Wilson, the former mayor of a Missouri town says that she was assaulted by police after she called 911 to report a burglary in her apartment complex.
“In the back of my apartment I called 9-1-1 thinking they were going to help,” Wilson said.

Yonkers, NY– A Yonkers police officer is on medical leave after shooting and wounding an off duty officer from another precinct on Monday evening.

Pelham Manor Officer Ken Campion finished his day shift on Monday and was found by Yonkers officers as he was sitting on a baseball field with a handgun in his lap, five and a half hours later.
