Shutting Down the Coinbase Tip Button

Today we’re announcing that we’ve decided to shut down our bitcoin Tip Button. The project has seen some good usage since we launched it, with about 10,000 users accepting bitcoin tips across a variety of websites.

However, another excellent tipping service in the bitcoin community, ChangeTip, has gotten some even better traction, and done a great job at pushing the tipping ecosystem forward. Cop Charged in Beating that Left a 7-Month-Old Baby with Brain Damage

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Oklahoma City Police Officer Jeremiah Thompson has been charged with child abuse, after a 7-month-old baby that he had been fostering for a month sustained major injuries while in his care.
In November of last year, Thompson called 911 to report that one of his foster children was having trouble breathing. At the time, Thompson was responsible for two young sisters, one 7-months-old and the other 2-years old.

Cop On Cop Brutality Costs California Taxpayers Two Million Dollars

Torrance, CA — A former Torrance police officer, Zachary Bazilius, has been awarded two million dollars straight from the taxpayers pockets after he alleges he was tased by his supervisor during roll call one morning.
The settlement comes after the state already shelled out over $600,000 in defense costs related to the incident.
The officer claims he was shot with the taser, and alleges he was left with permanent back injuries, a claim the other side has disputed.

New Mexico Representative Nate Gentry (R-Bernalillo) has introduced HB 346. It would move the primary for president and all other office from June to March.
