Green Bay, Wisconsin – A news team in Wisconsin recently discovered that applicants for police jobs throughout the state have declined sharply over the past year. Target 2 News in Green Bay decided to go around to their local police departments and ask them to actually dig through their records for an accurate count of how many people have been applying for jobs over the past few years.
They discovered that in some areas, interest in police jobs dropped by nearly 50 percent in the past year alone.

Chicago, Illinois – Last month, we reported that large numbers of military police officers who were formerly stationed at the infamous torture prisons at Guantánamo Bay were getting jobs as local cops.
Now, a new investigation by the Guardian has revealed that Former Guantánamo Bay interrogator Richard Zuley was already torturing people as a Chicago detective before he was ever stationed at the military prison.

Last week, Officer Carl DiBlasi, 53, was parked in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot meeting up with a sergeant. New legislation proposed in Montana would make it illegal for police to use licence plate scanners for tracking and database creation without cause or warrant. Unfortunately, federal agents would not be under state jurisdiction and would thus be able to use licence scanners on state property if they chose to.
However, state and local police departments would be prevented from using the devices for law enforcement purposes.
The bill, HB 344 states that “an agency or employee of the state or any subdivision of the state may not use, either directly or indirectly, a license plate scanner on any public highway.”
