Simi Valley, CA– A former Los Angeles Police Department officer turned Republican congressman, Steve Knight, was caught on camera last week reverting to his LAPD ways, and threatening a protester.

As anti-immigration protesters congregated outside of his California office, a man referred to in the video as “Mike” walks up and gives the congressman a handshake.
“You told me you didn’t vote for amnesty, and you did. I looked it up on the Internet. You lied to me,” Mike says to Knight before giving him a pat on the shoulder.

Fairfield, CA — The Guzman family found out the hard way about how futile their call was to 9-1-1 about their recently kidnapped son.

South Dakota Referendum Petition, to Overturn Bad New Ballot Access Law, Begins to Circulate

In March 2015, South Dakota made its ballot access laws worse. SB 69 moved the petition deadline for newly-qualifying parties from March 29 to March 1; said no one can independent candidate petitions if they are registered into a qualified party; increased the number of signatures for major party members to get on a party primary ballot, and made their deadlines earlier as well.
Also in the 2015 session, the legislature passed a controversial bill limiting the voter-approved measure to increase the minimum wage. The legislature passed a bill saying the increase doesn’t apply to persons under age 18.

Nevada Bill that Improves Petition Deadline for Newly-Qualifying Parties and Independent Candidates Passes Committee

On April 20, the Nevada Senate Legislative Operations & Elections Committee amended SB 499 and passed it. As amended, the bill does not create a top-two system. Instead, it improves the petition deadlines for newly-qualifying parties and non-presidential independent candidates. It moves the deadline for new parties from April to June, and moves the deadline for non-presidential independent candidates from February to June.

South Huntsville, AL– A woman was shot by police Sunday evening after her estranged husband, against whom who she had filed multiple protection orders, broke into her home and threatened her with a weapon.

Savannah, GA — A watchful citizen was walking down Bay street in Savannah’s Historic District, when they saw something that caught their eye.
A Savannah-Chatham police officer was conducting a bit of “online research.” The officer allegedly appeared to be “investigating” a popular porn video website.
This vigilant citizen caught this officer hastily taking in all the porn he could as he sat in the loading zone of the Hampton Inn.
The images were uploaded to popular image hosting site, Imgur, Monday and they paint a pretty damning picture of this officer’s alleged on-duty porn habit.
