In a fascinating (and dangerous!) experiment posted to YouTube on May 6, two men legally exercise their constitutional rights and open carry the exact same gun- an AR-15. One of the men is white, while the other is black. The difference in reactions from the police is absolutely astonishing.

On May 15, the Michigan Senate Elections & Government Reform Committee passed SB 329. Here is a description of the bill. IT would say that if a municipal city clerk misinformed candidates for city office about the deadline for them to submit petitions to be on the ballot, then that deadline could be adjusted for that year only.

Denver, CO — Officer Choice Johnson is currently on a mandatory 30-day vacation after shoving an innocent man down a flight of stairs and lying about it.
Had the surveillance camera footage never been released it would have been Johnson’s word against Brandon Schreiber’s, the man he assaulted. Schreiber would have most likely been convicted of a crime he did not commit.

Schreiber’s charges of assault and resisting were eventually dropped after this video surfaced. This was the first time, out of a whopping 17 complaints against officer Johnson that he was ever reprimanded.

San Diego, CA — Robert Branch was on his way to his job as a security guard last week when he crossed paths with a San Diego Sheriff’s detective, who was also on his way to work.
In an interview with 10 News, Branch said that the incident began as Detective Paul Ward attempted to run him off the road in an apparent incident of road rage.
According to Ward, however, Branch was driving erratically and at a high rate of speed.
As Branch slowed down in traffic, Ward began to follow him, and the two stopped in a driveway on Lambda drive.

U.S. District Court Judge Andrea Robin Wood has again postponed a decision in Libertarian Party of Illinois v Illinois State Board of Elections, n.d., 1:12cv2511. The issue is the state’s unique law that says newly-qualifying parties must run a full slate of candidates.
The case was filed in 2012 and still hasn’t had a decision on whether the law is constitutional or not. Earlier the case had been assigned to Judge Joan B. Lebanon, PA — Victoria ‘Tori’ Herr died in Lebanon County Correctional Facility last month after police hesitated to provide her with medical care for several days. Herr was addicted to heroin and began to go into withdrawal when she was taken into custody.
This is a situation that can be potentially deadly if not handled with care. Sadly, the corrections officers at the jail accused her of “faking,” and refused to get her medical care until it was too late.
