Heroic Service Dog Leaps in Front of Moving School Bus to Save Blind Owner’s Life

Brewster, N.Y. – Living up to the title of man’s best friend, a heroic service dog named Figo is being recognized for saving the life of his owner, Audrey Stone, 62, after leaping in front of a moving school mini-bus.
When the service dog saw an oncoming mini school bus heading for Stone, 62, the blind woman he was trained to guide, the golden retriever’s protective instincts kicked in. He threw himself at the closest part of the vehicle he could, according to The Journal News.
The bus’s driver claimed he never saw the pair as they crossed the road. The two …read more

Will Obamatrade be like Obamacare?

Should Congress pass trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) without knowing what’s in them?
If you say “NO,” then help prevent that from happening. Tell Congress to pass the Read the Bills Act through DownsizeDC.org’s campaign.
You may borrow from or copy this letter… Like Obamacare, the President wants you to pass Obamatrade without knowing what’s in it. He even makes you jump through hoops to look at the 800-page draft.
And he wants “fast-track” authority that prevents Congress from amending trade deals he submits.
Regrettably, the Senate caved to his demands.
But I say…
The House must NOT pass fast-track BEFORE it passes …read more

Maine Makes it Illegal for an Out-of-Stater to Ask Voters if they Wish to Sign an Initiative or Referendum Petition

On May 24, Maine LD 176 became law. The legislature had passed it on May 5 and Governor Paul LePage let it become law without signing it, but also not vetoing it. Here is the text of the law. Maine already didn’t permit out-of-staters do witness signatures being made on the petition, but now they can’t even ask voters to sign it. There is a very high probability this law is unconstitutional. Thanks to Thomas MacMillan for the news. …read more

Tamir Rice’s Family Knows Grand Juries Rarely Indict Cops, So they are Trying Something Different

Cleveland, Ohio – In the months since police shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice for playing with a toy gun in a park, the Cleveland Police Department has insisted that there was no wrongdoing on the part of the officer. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, thus far the police department has indicated that they believe that the 12-year-old boy was responsible for his own murder because he was playing with a toy gun in public.
The Rice family fears that this case could end up like that of Eric Garner and the number of other police murders where officers were …read more

URGENT: Don’t stop RAPID PROGRESS in 9/11 transparency

We’ve been working to get 28 pages declassified in the 9-11 report. These pages probably implicate Saudi Arabia in the 9-11 attacks.
THANK YOU! Your pressure is working. Now we need to take the next step.

Senator Rand Paul is introducing amendments that would declassify the 28-pages to the new National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) too.
Please take IMMEDIATE ACTION to tell Congress to pass this Amendment.

The hardwired message says…

Alabama Legislature Adjourns, Having Passed Few Election Law Bills

The Alabama legislature adjourned on June 4, after having failed to pass SB 221, the ballot access improvement bill. Many other election law bills also failed to pass. Several bills concerning the counting of write-in bills failed to pass. HB 451 would have required write-in candidates who want their write-ins tallied to file a declaration of candidacy; it passed the House but not the Senate. HB 503, which would have said no write-ins should be counted unless the vote-counting equipment suggests a write-in candidate might have won, made no progress at all.
HB 344, which would have …read more
