Onlookers Expect the Worst as they Watch a State Trooper Pursue Elderly Woman in Scooter

Lynden, Wa – To onlookers in Lynden, Washington, it might have seemed like the world’s most absurd police chase: a state trooper’s cruiser, red and blue lights flashing, in hot pursuit of an elderly lady on her electric scooter. Both vehicles were crawling down state route 546 at about six miles per hour.
In reality, it was state trooper Dave Hintz doing a good deed, providing a woman in her 80’s with a police escort home after she had become lost. When asked, Trooper Hintz made it a point to emphasize that his goal was not to detain her, but to …read more

Police Arrest 92-Year-Old Blind Woman for Her Peaceful Protest Against Fracking

Denton, Texas – On Tuesday, a blind 92-year-old great-grandmother, Violet Palmer, of Denton, was arrested along with her son. They were engaging in a peaceful act of civil disobedience. They were protesting HB 40, a law which effectively nullified Denton’s voter-approved fracking ban.
Last November voters of Denton approved a law that banned fracking in their municipality. Subsequently, in May, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed HB 40 into law, essentially overriding local bans on gas and oil drilling, thus making Denton’s ban virtually unenforceable.
Violet Palmer was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing, while her 64-year-old son, Theron Palmer, was charged with …read more

ACTION ITEM

Last week, the fake “cybersecurity” bill, CISA, was proposed as an amendment to the NDAA.

We are pleased to report, it was defeated, but…

That vote was only a trial balloon to gauge support for CISA. Once Majority Leader Mitch McConnell thinks he has the votes, he can put it up for another vote AT ANY TIME.

That’s why you should tell Congress TODAY to oppose CISA through DownsizeDC.org’s “Hands Off the Internet Campaign.”

New York Bill to Move Presidential Primary from February to April

Current New York law says the presidential primaries will be held on February 2, 2016. On June 15, AB 8256 was introduced, to move the 2016 presidential primaries to April 26. However, the legislature adjourns for the year on Wednesday, June 17. It is somewhat likely that this bill will pass, but it is not certain. If the bill passes, it will have no impact on petition deadlines for independent candidates and the nominees of unqualified parties. Thanks to Josh Putnam for the bill number. …read more

The Future of Wind Energy? No Blades

The future of wind energy is here — and it’s bladeless! A Spanish company called Vortex Bladeless, has developed a revolutionary way to harness the power of the wind.
The system is called Vortex, and it drastically reduces the amount of inputs required by regular propeller-driven windmills.
Instead of capturing energy via the rotational motion of a turbine, the Vortex takes advantage of what’s known as vorticity, an aerodynamic effect that occurs when wind breaks against a solid structure (Kármán vortex street). The Vortex structure starts to oscillate and captures the energy that is produced.
Vorticity is a powerful effect which was first …read more

Court Rules Government can Secretly Steal Organs from Dead People and Not Tell the Families

New York, N.Y. – In an extremely unsettling ruling, a New York appeals court has ruled that your family members’ organs can be kept by the medical examiner without having to notify the family of the deceased.
The divisive ruling left the seven-member appeals court divided 5-2, with all justices wanting the state legislature to ultimately decide the issue.
The morbid case ensued after a New York medical examiner, doing a routine autopsy on 17-year-old vehicular accident victim Jesse Shipley, kept the brain of the teenager, only to have it be discovered by classmates on a school field trip two months later.
