No Fees This Week When Buying Bitcoin with Euros

One of the main benefits of bitcoin is that it allows people to take control of their own wealth. Recent events in Greece have brought attention to this situation as the Greek banks have closed and limited customers to withdrawing 60 Euros per day.

We feel that all Europeans should educate themselves on the benefit of using a global currency that is not controlled by any particular country or company. As part of our effort to make it easy for anyone to buy and sell bitcoin all over the world, we’re pleased to announce that for the next week Coinbase customers …read more

Oregon — While marijuana legalization activists are cheering on the states end to pot prohibition this Wednesday, the way the law is set up has many shaking their heads.
Thanks to the 56 percent of Oregon residents voting in favor of Measure 91 last November, come this Wednesday, all residents 21 and older will legally be allowed to possess and use recreational reefer. There is, however, a catch, no one can sell it or buy it.
If Oregonians want to partake in the pot, they will have to either have it given to them as a gift or buy it on the …read more

U.S. Supreme Court Won’t Hear Appeal by Kansas and Arizona Over Voter Registration Forms

On June 29, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear Kobach v U.S. Election Assistance Commission, 14-3062. Kansas and Arizona wanted to alter the federal forms (that were to be used in those two states) to require applicants to attach proof of citizenship. The Tenth Circuit on November 7, 2014, had ruled that the federal agency responsible for the forms had already held exhaustive fact-finding hearings and had determined that there is no need to amend the forms. …read more

Proposed Bill Would Make it Illegal to ‘Back In’ to Your Own Drive Way. No, Seriously

Jacksonville, Fl – A proposed bill in Jacksonville, Florida would impose a fine on people who back their vehicle into their own driveway, effectively punishing those who practice this safe parking technique. Backing in would be allowed only if license plate information is clearly visible from the street.
Bill number 2015-377 is designed to help authorities crack down on abandoned vehicles, but in typical State fashion, it tramples on the rights of people to engage in the most innocuous of behaviors.
To aid city code enforcement inspectors in their revenue collection, the entire city of Jacksonville would suddenly be banned from backing …read more

Senator Ted Cruz Proposes National Retention Elections for U.S. Supreme Court Justices Every Eight Years

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) here says he will introduce a constitutional amendment to provide that the voters of the nation could vote to retain or reject U.S. Supreme Court Justices every eight years.
This is a revolutionary idea. The United States has never held a national election. All elections in U.S. history have always been statewide, or lesser geographical units, never national. In presidential elections, each state’s voters choose presidential electors for that state; there is no single election for President in a technical sense. The United States has never had a national referendum or a …read more
