In a glaring example of how the burgeoning State holds a powerful grip on humanity, political academics say that 1.6 billion people around the world are forced to pay bribes to dirty politicians and corrupt cops. That’s nearly a quarter of the global population robbed of money or personal possessions, on top of the legal taxation scheme they are subject to already.
The book, titled Paying Bribes for Public Services: A Global Guide to Grass-Roots Corruption, is written by Professor Richard Rose of Strathclyde and Dr. Caryn Peiffer of Birmingham.

Will CISA be to “cybersecurity” what TSA was to air travel?

CYBERSECURITY: After you read this, you’ll say, “Obama is right!” #tlot Retweet

I wrote a letter to the President telling him to veto the CISA bill if it comes to his desk.

THEN, I sent this similar letter to my Representative and Senators telling them to oppose it using DownsizeDC.org’s Hands Off the Internet Campaign.

I think President Obama was on to something in his April 15, 2012 Statement of Administration Principles. There, he said that a cybersecurity law must preserve “Americans’ privacy, data confidentiality, and civil liberties and recognize the civilian nature of cyberspace.”

Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY — Unfortunately, the sad reality is that yet another accusation of excessive force by the NYPD is hardly newsworthy anymore. But there was something different about what happened last night inside the Target store in Flatbush. And most of it was caught on video.
The man who captured the video told The Free Thought Project that he “witnessed several police officers repeatedly jumping with their knees on the victim’s head while he was already being held by a team of additional officers.”
The video then shows half a dozen officers putting their weight on the man as they held …read more

Cops Go ‘Undercover’ as Homeless People in Elaborate Scheme to Separate You from Your Money

San Bernardino, CA — In an apparent attempt to give rise to their bottom line, the San Bernardino Police Department took to the streets dressed as panhandlers this week.
Four officers donned their cardboard signs and walked the street looking for vile criminal law breakers who’d dare to be inside a vehicle without their seat belts on.

According to the NY Daily News,
The four-hour operation led to 50 total vehicle stops, including 33 for cell phone violations, 15 seat belt violations and five cars impounded because the drivers were either unlicensed or driving on suspended licenses, police said.
Officers Walton and Alvarez wore …read more
