South Dakota Ballot Access Brief Filed

On August 15, the South Dakota Constitution and Libertarian Parties filed this brief in the pending ballot access lawsuit in U.S. District Court. The purpose of this brief is to rebut the state’s last brief, which said the two parties don’t have standing. …read more

Massachusetts Secretary of State Shows Little Sympathy for Political Parties That Wish to Petition Before Nominating for President and Vice-President

William Galvin has been Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1994. During his earlier years in office, he permitted independent presidential candidates to list stand-ins for vice-president on their general election petitions, in instances when those presidential candidates hadn’t yet chosen their vice-presidential running mates. He also allowed presidential and vice-presidential substitution for unqualified parties who wanted to petition before they had chosen their national tickets.
In 2004 he let Ralph Nader use a vice-presidential stand-in. In 2000 he let the Reform Party uses stand-ins. In 1996 he let the Constitution Party use stand-ins. A …read more

No more Gmail, no more Google+, and no more Facebook

One of the primary goals of the Dark Android Project is to help get you away from Alphabet (Google) and its services. Why, you ask? Because if you are interested in recapturing your privacy, anonymity, and security in your digital life (and thus by default in today’s world, your “meatspace” life, as well), getting away from a company that has the very business model of knowing everything about you, and when it’s an open question as to how much they share that information…well…getting away from Alphabet is a pretty quick solution to begin that privacy recapturing process. And frankly, getting …read more

Video Catches 14 Cops Gang Up on Homeless Amputee ‘Armed’ with Crutches

San Francisco, CA (RT) — It took 14 San Francisco Police Department officers to take down and restrain a one-legged, black homeless man, armed with crutches and apparently dangerous. The incident is the latest embarrassment for the US police, who face constant accusations of unreasonable use of force.

The confrontation was captured on video released by journalist Chaedria LaBouvier via blog platform Medium, and shows white police officers taking down a one-legged homeless black man on the city’s central Market street. According to witnesses, police were called in to the scene to take care of a suspicious man waving some “sticks” …read more

Teenager Thrown in Jail For Calling Cops “Pigs” from a Moving Vehicle

Newport, TN — 19-year-old William Reece was arrested last week for yelling “pigs!” at a police officer who was conducting a traffic stop. The officer did not recognize the young man’s right to free speech and charged him with “disorderly conduct,” and accused him of “creating a hazardous condition that served no legitimate purpose.”
According to Newport police, Reece yelled the insult at the officer from a vehicle that was traveling down the road. He was not driving at the time, and was not even in the front seat, so he was not interfering with the driver or the operation of …read more

Oregon Secretary of State Says Independent Party Has Enough Registrations to Qualify for its Own Primary

On August 17, the Oregon Secretary of State released a new voter registration tally, which shows that the Independent Party, for the first time, has enough registered members to qualify for a primary. It needed 5% at that tally and just barely made it. See this announcement from the Secretary of State.
The party has been ballot-qualified since 2007, but, like Oregon’s other parties (other than the Democratic and Republican Parties) has been nominating by convention.
Ironically, the Independent Party will now have a much more difficult time cross-endorsing the nominees of other parties. Parties that nominate by convention …read more

Your chance to read a secret Pentagon document

Does your government protect you from enemies or create them? #ISIS Retweet

You’re about to read excerpts from a formerly secret Pentagon document. This document is an analysis created by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). It dates from August 12, 2012, long before ISIS became a major news story. The document was obtained in a Freedom of Information Request by Judicial Watch, a conservative organization. Judicial Watch has used this document to criticize Hillary Clinton’s handling of the Benghazi embassy controversy. But it’s real value lies elsewhere.

This document shows that the U.S. and its allies have supported Al-Qaeda associated elements …read more

What is the best mobile provider to use?

I’ve been asked this question a few times for various reasons, and in light of the recent reports about the lustful relationship between AT&T and the NSA (which I’ll cover more on an upcoming episode of my tech show, Sovryn Tech), I thought now would be a good time to cover this.
Keep in mind that if you read the main page of the Dark Android Project (which I will be adding content on this week), I recommend not using a smartphone with any telecom at all due to SIM cards being provably insecure. Certainly, the case can easily be made …read more
