Brick Township, NJ – A man is disputing official police reports in the death of his 21-year-old son, Julian Hoffman. Derek Hoffman claims he has video evidence that his son surrendered to police before he was gunned down by multiple officers.
On Monday, August 24th, police received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 10:50 pm from a man claiming he was going to “create a disturbance,” who then immediately hung up. Police responded to the call, claiming they were approached by a man who appeared to be carrying a gun. According to their official statement:

The Maine Green Party (whose name is the Green Independent Party) has voted to allow independent voters to vote in its primaries, and they need not join the Green Party. See this story. The two major parties in Maine also let independent voters vote in their primaries, but only if they join those parties at the polls on primary election day.

The Federal Election Commission has received forms from 835 individuals who claim they are running for President. The number was 586 before Public Policy Polling included Deez Nuts in some of its polls. That got so much publicity, it stimulated hundreds more entries, virtually all of them obviously jokes. Attorneys are approaching Gregg Levendoski to defend his case after the medical marijuana patient was subject to a militarized raid over two dozen marijuana plants. 60 local, state and federal officers, including SWAT teams, stormed the remote property and arrested Levendoski, his son and his girlfriend.
It literally was a show of force, as a local news crew was invited along to witness the gross intrusion on civil rights.

On August 25, U.S. District Court Judge James M. Moody, Jr., upheld the March 3 petition deadline that was in effect in Arkansas in 2014 (and will be again in 2018, under current law), for non-presidential independent candidate petitions. He said the deadline is needed to give the state time to check the petitions. Of course, independent candidates go directly onto the November ballot, which is not printed until September.
