On June 14, the House passed the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Section 1061 would expand the Surveillance State even more.
Please tell the Senators to remove it before voting on the bill. You can do so using DownsizeDC.org’s “I Am Not Afraid” campaign.

I do not consent to the culture of fear created by Congress since 9/11. Before then, there were terrorist attacks from time to time, but Congress didn’t radically strip Americans of their Fourth Amendment rights.
The chance of being victimized by terrorism was tiny then, and it’s tiny now. The difference is we were freer.
I demand that freedom once again. One way to make that happen is to strip Section 1061 of the 2014 NDAA (HR 1960). This provision…

* or provide privacy protections.Sec 1061 EXPANDS the Surveillance State when you SHOULD be ending it. It’s IMMORAL for you to collect my data without my consent. It’s also UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Your legitimacy as a governing institution requires you to do the right thing. So I demand you obey your oath of office. Strip Sec. 1061 from the NDAA.
And then, repeal the Patriot Act, FISA Amendments Act, and all other features of the Surveillance State.
