#1 OSTA, Primary Action…
Please help recruit more co-sponsors for the “One Subject at a Time Act” (OSTA). Cosponsors have clout with their colleagues. You can encourage them to spread the good news that sponsoring OSTA is beneficial for them. It’s easy, using Twitter…
TWEET Representative Tom Emmer, (R) Minnesota – @RepTomEmmer
Here’s a Tweet you can copy and paste (or better yet, write your own)…
@RepTomEmmer Thanks for co-sponsoring the One Subject at a Time Act and working with @RepMiaLove @RandPaul @DownsizeDC to promote it.
Please send your Tweet right now. We did it!
#2 Secondary Action Item, using the Educate the Powerful System…
Do Republicans agree with @realDonaldTrump on immigration? Retweet
We just sent Congress a message using our immigration campaign. Our message includes powerful facts about what Republican voters really think about immigration. Here’s a clue…
They don’t agree with Trump.
Check out the sample letter to Congress below. If you agree with it, and our basic position on immigration, then send it to your Reps. If you don’t agree, then just do the OSTA action above, and tune in again tomorrow. The hardwired message for our immigration campaign reads…
Create a world where all people can travel from country to country without legal restrictions. OPPOSE immigration controls.
You can copy or edit this sample letter for your personal comments to Congress…
You should pay attention to where the voters stand on this issue. A majority of Republican voters actually OPPOSE the Trump stance on immigration. And if the Republicans are against it, you can bet the voters as a whole oppose it even more.
CNN exit polls from 19 Republican primaries showed GOP voters in 90% of those states favor “legal status” over “deportation.” Support for legal status averages 53 percent compared to 41 percent for deportation.
Pew and Wall Street Journal polls show similar results. http://washex.am/23CgY5q
Please conform your position to what the people want. And remember, the Constitution gives you no enumerated power to control immigration. Your only authority is to determine who can or cannot be a citizen (naturalization).
