Do you want MORE surveillance?

The Consent Chronicle

This is the official email newsletter of the Zero Aggression Project and DownsizeDC.org, Inc.

DownsizeDC.org is one of 54 organizations who just sent a letter to Congressonal leadership opposing Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s phony “FISA Improvements Act.” Here it is.

We invite you to tell your Representative and Senators to oppose it as well through DownsizeDC.org’s Hands Off the Internet campaign.

The hardwired message says…

As a constituent, I insist that you oppose any attempts to undermine Internet freedom.

You may copy from or personalize this sample letter…

That’s why you must oppose S. 1631, the FISA Improvements Act. Instead of ending the NSA’s criminal programs, S.1631 would…

* entrench some of the worst forms of NSA surveillance into law
* extend NSA surveillance programs in unprecedented ways.

If the S.1631 passed, the NSA would…

* continue to collect telephone records of hundreds of millions of Americans not suspected of any crime
* restart the bulk collection of Internet communication records.

The NSA’s mass surveillance programs already sweep up data about millions of people daily. This shadow of surveillance…

* violates privacy rights
* chills freedom of speech
* undermines confidence in US Internet companies

And, obviously, it runs afoul of the Constitution, as a federal judge recently ruled.

S. 1631 will “reform” NONE of this!

Champion REAL reform to end these programs. Oppose S.1631, which would codify and expand them.

Your oath to support the Constitution requires you to do so.

And polls consistently show you’d have the people’s support if you do.
