#HoodieTheHomeless launches in San Francisco

Bitcoin Not Bombs has launched a crowd-funding campaign to purchase 324 hoodies to be distributed to the homeless of San Francisco, CA.

(San Francisco, CA) – On Tuesday, September 10, 2013 Bitcoin Not Bombs launched a crowd-funding campaign through BitcoinStarter.com to raise 47 Bitcoin. The money will be used to purchase 324 screen printed orange hoodies from Mass Appeal Inc. to be given to the homeless in time for Winter, to purchase socks and other items with excess funds, and to do a little guerrilla marketing for Bitcoin in a downtrodden demographic that could really benefit from this new technology.

This is entirely a Bitcoin project. The fundraising is being done in Bitcoin, and the hoodies are being purchased with Bitcoin, thanks to Mass Appeal Inc. No dollars are exchanging hands in the execution of this project. There are currently three ways that people can support this campaign:

1) Sign up for BitcoinStarter.com today, and pledge their donation to the Hoodie The Homeless donation drive. There are a variety of perks to donating this way including the Bitcoin Not Bombs lapel pin, shot glass, and limited edition campaign poster.

2) Pre-order the Bitcoin Not Bombs orange t-shirt with the same print on it as the hoodies. Each shirt is priced to covers the cost of one hoodie. The t-shirts will be printed at the same time as the hoodies and shipped in mid October. The first 25 orders will also get a free “Lip Balm not Bombs” chap stick from or friends at Singing Tall Grass.

3) All donations made to the Bitcoin Not Bombs general fund made during the course of this campaign will go toward this project. Donations can be made on the Bitcoin Not Bombs About Page.
