Supreme Court To Decide “First Sale Doctrine” — 1 Comment

  1. There is a well-establihsed legal interpretation of copyright (or copywrong) that does not even allow a copy
for personal use. If you go to any Staples or Fed Ex Store this warning is still displayed at the Copy Machines. We saw this interpretation bubble up during the whole Napster debacle circa 1999 or so when people wanted to “share” their personal copies. Napster was shut down. The Hollywood Lobby and it’s spokesmouths like Chris Dodd are still enoromously powerful and are still pretty livid over what they consider to be piracy of epidemic proportions on the internet.
