Exlusive interview with SPLC Director of Research Heidi Beirich

The Southern Poverty Law Center recently issued an “Intelligence Report” on “Active ‘Patriot’ Groups in the United States”. Stating,

“The Intelligence Project identified 512 “Patriot” groups that were active in 2009. Of these groups, 127 were militias, “common-law” courts, publishers, ministries and citizens’ groups. Generally, Patriot groups define themselves as opposed to the “New World Order,” engage in groundless conspiracy theorizing, or advocate or adhere to extreme antigovernment doctrines. Listing here does not imply that the groups themselves advocate or engage in violence or other criminal activities, or are racist. The list was compiled from field reports, Patriot publications, the Internet, law enforcement sources and news reports.”

In response to this “report” Renea McMasters and I went to their office in Montgomery, Alabama in an attempt to get answers on how and why this report was written. Renea was able to get a meeting with Heidi Beirich and took a camera inside to capture the meeting.

  1. Immediate indication that this is not a “normal” non-profit advocacy group : the presence of security sporting a mic.-headpiece….

    Bravo, Rene and Heidi.

  2. Good job, Renea! I wonder, if “she” is on the “list” to “put ” people on her “list” also?…Who's list does “she” represent?

…Somebody put “me” on the “list”,
    I always wonder, why?
I always wonder, who it is?
    I wonder, who and why?

“They” so afraid, so many of us!
    And something we will do!
“They” put us all on “their' list,
To watch us, what we do!!!

We are not afraid, we love the US!
We worry, what “they” will do!
We need to take all “their” lists,
    And flash in toilet stool!!!

  3. Renea could have brought up 100 better retorts. next time maybe you should bring notes..

  4. this happing in UK TOO , IN so called support groups watching what they do. When i got a wind of this i got all copy of my data this group hold,s well the laws to get incorrect info taken off officals dat records, IT held or paper formatt is very hard, and they use so called link workers as spys , for other, to betend they are support ing those that need this most, I am still in state of not willing anymore, now i know who they work, to share my info, thye are funded, bythe very officals , im up against. So it happnes very where.

  5. You should have asked “What's the diffrence between conspiracy moungering, when the government is suspect, and a RICO ACT prosecution when civilians are suspect?” OR “What is the diffrence between a conspiracy and a long range business plan?”

Its very “telling” that an NGO, such as the SPLC has so much “official” state security. Those were not “rent a cops!” It appears that the SPLC is in “a conspiracy” with the government, or agents thereof, to demonize ANY BODY that dares to challenge the “status quo.”

I also noticed how she tried the distinguish “anti-semitism” and “legitimate foriegn relations concerns.” Yet, any one that brings up the Isreali crimes in the middle-east, and American funding for that, the SPLC is the FIRST to label those persons as “anti-semite hate group.”

When I was young, and the civil rights issues were “in play” (60s), I respected the SPLC. What they have digressed into today, deserves NO “respect” or support!

  6. Sweetie, when you tell someone you are scared, then you become their pet! You never show fear. EVER! What you should have said is “look lady you and your group are group racists. We could care less if you have us on your little list. Nobody takes your list seriously. So put that in your racist pipe and smoke it!” Jeez. Arguing with people that loves to see you squirm is just so belittling. Anarchists are not highly seen as patriotic? Why does she keep claiming she is anarchists? WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR LIST???? SPLC is about to tumble, because they are ACORN on another level. I'll write my name on their dang list! Put me there, circle my name in red. Doesn't change that I am an American who does not like NWO! Period.

  7. HAHAHAHAHAHA Bush meant what??? SO FULL OF POO! Why didn't he just say “it's a new day dawning” or “New days without a wall are ahead” or “A world of New Ideas.” Why NWO?? He meant what he said. Bilderberg, Bohemian Grove, Skull and Bones. I reackon they actually smacked that mean ole wall down, they did! NWO means NEW WORLD GOVERNMENT pushed on the citizens without their okay, and if they don't comply, then we will PUT THEM ON A LIST TO BE HAULED OFF TO FEMA CAMPS!! Isn't that right, Miss SPLC spokesperson?

  8. It was awesome for these two ladies to go in there and have a talk with that monster. Although…I just wish she should had gone a bit more prepared; documents, paperwork, anything written in black and white. With such information they would had made circles around that treasonous lady.

  9. Great work Renea!!! How many times did she say conspiracy theory? She froze up at the mention of Bilderberg. And since when is being a patriot a bad thing!?! Why would WAC want to “get off” the patriot list? Are they trying to equate patriotism with terrorism now? Excellent work Renea and Darryl!! This only fuels my fire to keep the protest alive and well! Thanks!

  10. Wish I was able to make it down there but then again I could give a damn less what them fuckers say. As Ron Paul says all constitutionalist and people who stand up to the Gov are a threat SO THAT MEANS I AM A THREAT AND WILL BE A THREAT TO THEIR NWO.

  11. I wonder what her thoughts were in the 60s this woman does not remember how blacks got their equal rights. The list they make for us as partiots is the same list the black panthers were on, but they were not peaceful this woman is such a hypocrit

  12. Just a heads-up — following the links to the SPLC site from here got me this error message:

    The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Methinks that the SPLC staffers don't want those who don't agree with their policy aims to read their otherwise publicly-posted reports and such.

  13. Two thirds of America's presidents over the last 50 years have been members of the Council on Foreign Relations. Every Chairman of the Federal Reserve has been a member. All but one CIA director, all but one Secretary of State, all but one Dep. Sec. of State has been has been a member of this private organization. Richard Gardner suggested in Foreign Affairs in the 70's that doing an “end run around American sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece” was a more effective strategy than confronting it head on. If the over-representation of this organization of some 4000 people in our government isn't a “conspiracy”, then it certainly qualifies as a statistical aberration of astronomical proportions. A few quotes from men like Gardner and David Rockefeller would have left Ms. Beirich speechless and calling for security back-up. Reminding her of the internment of Japanese-American citizens is hard to refute as “antisemitism” (whatever that term means, since most “Jews” are not Semitic).

  14. I want to know how they decide who is and who is not a hate group. I am the founder of the American Patriots for Freedom Foundation out of Spring, Texas, and I just found out that my little group is on this SPLC list. I do not EVER advocate hate. All my group does is connect with other like minded people in our area, and we are preparing ourselves to be self sustainable in case of any kind of disaster. We all know that history repeates itself, so what is so wrong with getting yourself and your family prepared? A government who supplies you everything can also take everything away. So to me this SPLC are the terrorists spreading hate by margenalizing and labeling Patriots. Didnt Hitler do this to ? I think they were called “The Brown Shirts” We should start a fund and send all the employees of the SPLC a brown shirt for Christmas.
